  3. To Select a particular song, click on the grey button corresponding 
  4. to the song and dancer you wish to enjoy.
  5.  
  6. To Select a two dance performance by your favorite dancer, click 
  7. on the pink buttons corresponding to the dancer you wish to see.  
  8. This will play two dances with the songs corresponding to the 
  9. grey buttons to the right.
  10.  
  11. To view L.A. STRIPPERS in its entirety, click on the "L.A. STRIPPERS" 
  12. logo at the top of the screen.  This will present the video in linear
  13. fashion.  Running time is approximately 75 minutes.
  14.  
  15. To Exit a video while it is running, press the Escape key.
  16.  
  17. To determine whether you are in Lo-Res (Full Screen, 320x200x256) 
  18. or Hi-Res (1/3 Screen, 640x480x256) mode, look at the bottom left 
  19. of your screen for the "STATUS: High(Low)-Res" box. 
  20.  
  21. To change the viewing mode to Low or High Resolution click your 
  22. mouse pointer on the "Switch to (Hi/Lo)-Res" button at the bottom 
  23. right of your screen.  
  24.  
  25. To get this help screen, just repeat what you did to get here now.
  26. To exit this help screen, press the Escape Key.

  28. NOTE: IF YOUR VIDEO IS NOT PLAYING PROPERLY, TRY REINSTALLING USING
  29.       THE INSTALL2.BAT FILE.  SIMPLY LOG TO YOUR CD-ROM AND TYPE:

  42. Here is a synopsis of technical information related to 
  43. "L.A. Strippers" extracted from the ReadMe.txt file:

  47.  
  48. To install "L.A. Strippers" viewing software, log to your CD-ROM
  49. drive and type: "INSTALL" and press Enter.  For a successful install
  50. you will need about .5 Megabytes of available space on your "C:" Drive.
  51.  
  52. Upon initiating the "INSTALL" program as indicated above, an
  53. Installation menu will will appear:
  54.  
  55.         To continue the install process choose option 1. by typing:
  56.         "1" and pressing Enter.
  57.  
  58.         To read the README file before proceeding with the install
  59.         process, select "2" from the menu and press Enter.
  60.  
  61.         To exit back to DOS select "3" from the menu and press Enter.
  62.  
  63. If your system is configured correctly, and you have gone through the
  64. installation process, you can begin enjoying "L.A. Strippers". Simply
  65. log to your "C:" drive,
  66.  
  67.  type: "CD\STRIPPER" and press Enter then
  68.  type: "GO" and press Enter.
  69.  
  70. If "L.A. Strippers" does not load properly then you will need to
  71. review the following information regarding your system configuration.
  72.  
  73. System Requirements:
  74.  
  75. To run "L.A. Strippers" you need to have:
  76.  
  77. 1. Your Microsoft Mouse driver loaded,
  78. 2. Your system configured for 2 megabytes of expanded memory,
  79. 3. At least 580 K-Bytes of Conventional memory available.
  80.  
  81. Instructions for adjusting your system to meet these requirements
  82. follow:
  83.  
  84. Setting up Expanded Memory:
  85.  
  86. To set up your system environment with expanded memory, you must edit
  87. the "CONFIG.SYS" file in your root directory ("C:\") to include the
  88. following lines:
  89.         
  90.         DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
  91.         DOS=HIGH
  92.         DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE 2048 RAM FRAME=E000
  93.  
  94.  
  95. Maximizing Conventional Memory
  96.  
  97. If "L.A. Strippers" still does not load, check your available
  98. conventional (low) memory.
  99.  
  100. You can do this by typing: MEM and pressing Enter.  Check to make 
  101. sure that you have at least 580 Kbytes of free memory in the low 
  102. memory area.
  103.  
  104. If you do not have enough free memory available, you may be able 
  105. to adjust your system configuration by changing all "Device=..." 
  106. statements in your config.sys file to "DeviceHigh=...".  In your 
  107. AUTOEXEC.BAT file you can precede commands with the "LoadHigh " 
  108. statement.  Both of these actions will load drivers and programs 
  109. into high (Extended) memory thereby freeing up conventional memory.
  110.  
  111. An alternative is to create a "Boot Disk".  This is done by
  112. formatting a system disk. To do this place a blank disk in the
  113. "A:" drive and type: FORMAT A:/S
  114.  
  115. Then you can make a "skeleton" config.sys file by setting up
  116. expanded memory (EMM386.EXE, see above), and loading high the drivers
  117. for your CD-ROM, Sound Card, etc.  Leave any unecessary commands out
  118. of your config.sys and autoexec.bat.
  119.  
  120. Reboot your system with the newly created system in drive "A:"
  121. Now you can log to the "C:" drive and execute "L.A. Strippers".
  122.  
  123.  
  124. MOUSE
  125.  
  126. If your "L.A. Strippers" Video Sequences appear to be loading properly and
  127. suddenly revert back to DOS or your mouse pointer doesn't work, you need to
  128. install your MicroSoft Mouse driver.
  129.  
  130. The mouse driver installation for Windows does not necessarily apply to
  131. the DOS environment.  To install your mouse driver, look for a file on
  132. your system called mouse.com or mouse.exe.  Change to the directory
  133. which contains that file and execute it by typing "MOUSE" and pressing
  134. the enter key.
  135.  
  136. To verify that your mouse driver loaded properly, look for the message:
  137. "Mouse Driver Loaded".
  138.  
  139.  
  140. VIDEO CARDS
  141.  
  142. Some conventional VGA/SVGA video cards require a Vesa driver to run 
  143. correctly. Included on your CD-ROM is a directory called "DRIVERS" 
  144. which contains several drivers for various popular video boards.  
  145. To use these drivers you must do the following:
  146.  
  147.  1. Determine the chipset of your video card.  You may refer to
  148.     your video card manual or you may have to physically inspect
  149.     the card for this information.  You will need this information
  150.     to choose the appropriate driver.
  151.         
  152.  2. UNZIP (Decompress) the appropriate driver by
  153.         
  154.     A. Changing into the DRIVERS directory on your CD-ROM drive.
  155.        This is done by logging to your CD-ROM drive and typing:                               
  156.                    
  157.        "CD\DRIVERS"
  158.                 
  159.     B. As an example assume that you have determined that your
  160.        video card has a TSENG LABS Chipset.  You would then Type: 
  161.                    
  162.       "UNZIP TSENGVSA.ZIP C:\STRIPPER" and press Enter.
  163.         
  164.  3.  Apply the driver by following the instructions included with 
  165.      it, or by simply typing in the file name preceding the COM 
  166.      or EXE extention.
  167.  
  168.  4.  After you have loaded the driver, run "L.A. Strippers" as indicated
  169.      above.
  170.  
  171. An indication that your system may need a vesa driver is when you have
  172. bright CGA colors splashing your screen, or when hi-res mode is playing
  173. in lo-res.
  174.  
  175. Local Bus Video Cards
  176.  
  177. Local Bus video cards are quickly becoming common as they 
  178. significantly boost performance for Windows users.  However these 
  179. cards sometimes cause memory conflict errors when used with DOS 
  180. Programs.
  181.  
  182. The install program places a special driver on your system to
  183. accomodate most Local Bus Video Cards. This driver is
  184. designed to help overcome the memory conflict problem.
  185.  
  186. Performance on a local bus card may be slower as the special driver 
  187. is actively manipulating memory while playing your video sequences.
  188. If your video performance is extremely choppy, or if you have a Cirrus
  189. Logic VESA card, please indicate this on your registration card so
  190. that we may send you any updated drivers that might improve performance.
  191.

  193. SOUND
  194.  
  195. If you have a sound card which is compatible with Sound Blaster or
  196. Pro-Audio Spectrum, and if your sound card is correctly installed,
  197. you should have no problems with sound.
  198.  
  199. The installation program automatically configures for your sound
  200. card.
  201.  
  202. If you are getting no sound at all, check to make sure that the 
  203. software installation for your sound card matches the hardware 
  204. settings on your sound card.  Also check to be sure that your 
  205. config.sys or autoexec.bat file contains the appropriate sound 
  206. card drivers.
  207.  
  208. If you are getting high-pitched noise, or heavy static, or frequent 
  209. loss of sound, chances are that you have an address or interrupt 
  210. conflict problem.  
  211.  
  212. Recommended sound card settings are: 
  213.  
  214. DMA Channel 1, Interrupt 7, Addr. 220.
  215. or
  216. DMA Channel 3, Interrupt 7, Addr. 220.
  217.  
  218. If you are getting sound but get periodic jerkiness or skips, 
  219. the likelyhood is that your CD-ROM drive or its interface, or 
  220. your PC CPU is too slow to adequately process the information 
  221. quickly enough to allow for smooth operation.  A double spin 
  222. CD-ROM drive is recommended and is manufactured by Toshiba, 
  223. Texel, Nec, Panasonic, Philips, and others.  If your system has
  224. a sustained throughput of at least 150 kilobytes per second, 
  225. an average access time of less than 350 milliseconds, and a 
  226. 64K transfer buffer, you should be able to enjoy the full 
  227. quality of performance of "L.A. Strippers".
